March Tiny Habits

  • After I wake up and put my feet on the floor I will say “It’s going to be an awesome day” and then I will feel Shine by smiling. (The Maui habit)
  • After I brush my teeth I will do 5 pushups and then I will feel Shine by doing a fist pump.
  • After I bring the clean laundry into the room I will hang one piece of clothing and then I will feel Shine by smiling.

Does this pattern sound familiar? It should! It’s from BJ Fogg Ph.D.’s “Tiny Habits”! He recommends no more than 3-5 habits be worked on at a time.

I like to track things, so here’s a list of things I’m tracking in March. If I do them, great, if I don’t, that’s ok too. It’s kind of like a running list of habits I would like to have. These are in no particular order.

Habits and behaviors I’m tracking in March:

  • Meditated >=20 minutes
  • At work on time
  • No nap
  • Read a book for >=10 mins
  • Made the bed
  • Decluttered for >=10 mins
  • Did laundry
  • Put clean clothes away
  • Most Important Task done
  • Write 250+ words
  • Blog post
  • No (unneeded) spending
  • Stretch
  • Exercise
  • Wakeup jumping jacks
  • No junk food
  • No sugar intake
  • Ate real lunch
  • Brushed teeth (AM)
  • Brushed teeth (PM)
  • Weighed myself
  • No tearing/biting nails
  • Ate three meals
  • Stretched
